Rooted in Craft. Built on Trust. Sakina Braiding LLC was founded in 2022 by Sakina, a master braider with over 20 years of hands-on experience creating stunning, protective styles for clients of all backgrounds.
What started as a passion quickly became a purpose. Sakina has spent two decades perfecting the art of African braiding, learning every technique from classic box braids to intricate knotless and boho styles. She brings that depth of skill to every single appointment along with a warm, welcoming energy that keeps clients coming back.

What braiding styles do you offer?
We offer knotless braids, boho braids, box braids, cornrows, locks, soft locks, flat twists, ponytail braids, Senegalese twists, crochet braids, and much more. If you have a style in mind, bring a photo!
How long does a braiding appointment take?
Appointment length depends on the style, length, and thickness you choose. Simple styles may take 2-3 hours; more intricate or longer styles can take 4-7 hours. We’ll give you an estimated time when you book.
What should I do to prepare for my appointment?
Come with clean, detangled, and stretched hair if possible. If you’re bringing your own braiding hair, make sure you have the right amount for your style. Not sure how much? Just ask when you book!
Do you provide braiding hair?
Yes, braiding hair is available, or you’re welcome to bring your own. Let us know your preference when booking so we can prepare accordingly.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Cash and Zelle. Please note we do not accept credit or debit cards at this time.
Do you work with all hair types?
Absolutely! Sakina works with all hair types natural, relaxed, thick, fine, short, and long. Every client is welcome.

We’re located at 10770 Columbia Pike, Suite 300 E55, Silver Spring, MD 20901. Parking is available at the location.
Can children get braids done?
Yes! We welcome clients of all ages. For younger children, we use gentle techniques to keep the process comfortable and fun.
